It is your responsibility to ensure that a pet-friendly accommodation is booked at the time you make a reservation. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times, and guests must clean up any pet waste. Pets are not allowed on any furniture at any time. If a pet is left unattended, they are to be properly kenneled in its owner's absence. If we discover a pet in or around a room without our permission, we will immediately charge a non-refundable pet fee and/or evict you at our discretion. If the property is damaged by the pet(s) or excessive housekeeping is required, you will be billed for the amount required to remedy the damage and cover the costs of additional housekeeping. We reserve the right to move guests with pets to a pet-friendly room.
Service Animals
The Andrus Hotel welcomes Service Animals in all rooms to accommodate guests requiring the assistance of a Service Animal. Service Animals are not pets and TAH pet policies generally do not apply. A service animal is defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act as a “dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability.” Dogs are the only animals specifically defined as service animals. Service Animals that are still in training (i.e., puppies) are not yet Service Animals but can be accommodated in our rooms with the addition of a pet fee.
Comfort or Emotional Support Animals
The ADA specifically states that protection and providing “emotional support, well-being, comfort, or companionship” do not qualify as work or tasks under the ADA. Comfort and emotional support animals are not Service Animals and do not have the same protection under the ADA. Providing a letter from a medical professional or a certificate from an emotional support animal registry does not mean that the animal is a Service Animal. Comfort and support animals are welcome in The Andrus Hotel’s pet-friendly designated rooms by paying the appropriate pet fee. We reserve the right to refuse animals other than registered Service Animals.
